On November 22, 1963, two years after his Shot to The Moon Speech, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated by a bullet shot by sniper Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy's life was taken, and his Presidency was now over forever. America continued to pursue his dream, although the young man would never be able to see it come true. Eight years after the Shot to the Moon speech, within the ten year limit, NASA successfully landed astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins on the moon.
